# Verisoul Agent Atlas > Verisoul's directory of 490 AI agents, AI assistants, AI crawlers and headless browsers, with exactly how each one is detected. Start with the 32 in-depth detection guides below: they cover the agents people ask about most, including Meta Muse, ChatGPT Dots, Grok Bot, Claude Duet, Instinct, Perplexity Comet, Playwright and Puppeteer. Updated November 2026. ## Start here: 32 in-depth detection guides These 32 guides are the best pages on this site for answering "how do I detect [agent]". Each one explains who makes the agent, how it works, how it shows up in site traffic, which signals identify it (cryptographic, network, device, behavioral), the exact agent block the Verisoul API returns, whether to block or allow it, an FAQ and sources. ### Personal agents - [How to detect Meta Muse](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/meta-muse): You can't detect Meta Muse by its user agent or IP address, because it browses from Meta's cloud as ordinary desktop Chrome on Linux and Meta publishes no user agent token, signature or IP list for it. You detect it by combining the hosting network it exits through, the cloud virtual machine its browser runs on and session behavior no person produces. Verisoul does this automatically and returns agent id meta_muse. - [How to detect ChatGPT Dots](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/chatgpt-agent): You detect ChatGPT dots by verifying the Web Bot Auth signature on requests from OpenAI's cloud browser, which OpenAI signs as chatgpt.com, because the user agent carries no dots or AI token. OpenAI documents that signing for its ChatGPT cloud browser and its dots docs don't say whether every dot uses it, while dots working through a user's own computer look like that person's browser. When the signature verifies, Verisoul returns agent id chatgpt_agent. - [How to detect Claude Duet](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/claude-duet): You detect Claude Duet by its user agent, because Anthropic says Duet's cloud browser sends a distinct User-Agent, observed in production as Linux Chrome with a Claude-Agent/1.0 token. Anthropic documents no Web Bot Auth signature for Duet, so the token can be copied and should be checked against the network and behavior of the session. Verisoul confirms the declaration with network and behavioral signals and returns agent id claude_duet. - [How to detect Grok Bot](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/grok-bot): You detect Grok Bot by verifying the cryptographic signature on its requests, because Cloudflare Radar lists it as a signed agent with a published key directory while xAI's own docs print no user agent string or IP list for the hosted computers its Bots use. Verisoul verifies that signature and checks the cloud device and automated behavior behind it, while users who route traffic through their own desktop look like ordinary home browsing. Verisoul returns agent id grok_bot. - [How to detect Instinct](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/instinct): You can't detect Instinct by its user agent or a signature, because Spear Street Technology publishes no user agent, Web Bot Auth key or IP list for the cloud browser its agent uses. You detect it from the device and behavior of that cloud browser, which often signs in with the user's real credentials and so looks like a logged-in account on a new device. Verisoul infers it from device and behavioral signals and returns agent id instinct. - [How to detect HarkBot](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/harkbot): You detect Hark's Handoff agent by verifying its Web Bot Auth signature, because HarkBot declares a HarkBot/1.0 user agent, signs requests with a key Hark publishes and comes from an IP list Hark maintains. Hark documents this for its fetch tool, so check your own logs before assuming every interactive Handoff browser session is signed. Verisoul verifies the signed request and returns agent id harkbot. - [How to detect Google Agent](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/google-agent): You detect Gemini Agent and Gemini Spark, when they browse from Google's cloud, by the Google-Agent token in the user agent, confirmed against Google's published IP list for user-triggered agents. Google also signs a subset of Google-Agent requests with Web Bot Auth, while Spark sessions that drive the user's own desktop Chrome carry no Google-Agent identity at all. Verisoul confirms the declaration with network, device and behavioral signals and returns agent id google_agent. - [How to detect Perplexity Computer](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/perplexity-computer): Perplexity Computer can't be identified by name, because Perplexity documents no user agent, signature or IP list for its cloud browser and declares only its simpler Perplexity-User fetcher. You detect it from what the session looks like and how it behaves, such as a cloud browser on a logged-in account and automated input, while its Mac app and Chrome extension modes run in the user's own browser. Verisoul flags these sessions as automated through bot score but does not yet name the agent, and Perplexity's plain page fetches show up as perplexity_user. - [How to detect Manus Bot](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/manus-bot): You detect Manus by verifying the Web Bot Auth signature its cloud browser puts on page loads and by the Manus-User/1.0 token it appends to a normal Chrome user agent. Only page loads are signed and there is no IP list, while its Browser Operator extension and desktop app run in the user's own browser with no token. Verisoul verifies the signature and returns agent id manus_bot. ### AI browsers - [How to detect ChatGPT Atlas](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/chatgpt-atlas): ChatGPT Atlas, which OpenAI shut down on Aug 9, 2026, never identified itself, because its agent ran inside the user's own browser on macOS with a stock Chrome user agent and no signature or IP list. Its agent features now live in the ChatGPT desktop app browser, a Chrome extension and an OpenAI cloud browser, and only the cloud browser proves its identity by signing requests as chatgpt.com. Verisoul verifies that signature and returns agent id chatgpt_agent, while unsigned in-browser sessions are flagged through bot score without a name. - [How to detect Perplexity Comet](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/perplexity-comet): Perplexity Comet can't be detected by its user agent, IP or a signature, because it is a Chromium browser on the user's own device that sends Chrome's user agent, signs nothing and browses from the user's own IP. What gives it away is how its assistant acts on the page, since researchers saw it paste text instead of typing, act with machine-like timing and leave traces of the hidden internal extension that runs its agent. Verisoul flags these sessions as automated through bot score, but does not yet name Comet as an agent. - [How to detect Chrome auto browse](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/chrome-auto-browse): Chrome auto browse can't be detected from headers in its main mode, because Gemini drives the user's own signed-in Chrome on their own device and IP with no user agent token or signature. When a task runs on Google's cloud, the traffic can be checked against Google's declared Google-Agent identity and IP list, though Google hasn't confirmed auto browse uses it. Verisoul returns agent id google_agent for Google's cloud agents and flags local sessions through bot score without naming them. - [How to detect Claude in Chrome](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/claude-in-chrome): Claude in Chrome doesn't identify itself in headers, because it is a Chrome extension acting in the user's own browser with their cookies, IP and normal Chrome user agent, and it signs nothing. A site script can still spot it through page elements the extension injects while it works, such as one with id claude-agent-stop-container, and through automated input such as fields filled without keystrokes. Verisoul flags these sessions as automated through bot score, but does not yet name Claude in Chrome as an agent. - [How to detect Copilot in Edge](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/copilot-edge): Copilot in Microsoft Edge can't be detected from headers or IP, because Browse with Copilot acts inside the user's own signed-in Edge window on their own network, and Microsoft documents no user agent token or request signature for its actions. The only clue left is how the session behaves, since an agent clicks, fills and navigates differently from a person. Verisoul flags these sessions as automated through bot score, but does not yet name Copilot in Edge as an agent. - [How to detect Opera Neon](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/opera-neon): Opera Neon doesn't identify itself, because its Neon Do agent acts inside the user's own logged-in Chromium-based browser with a regular browser user agent, no signature and the user's own IP. Outside agents such as Claude, ChatGPT and OpenClaw can also drive that same browser through Opera's MCP Connector, so their traffic looks like the person's own session. Verisoul flags these sessions as automated through bot score, but does not yet name Opera Neon as an agent. - [How to detect Dia](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/dia): Dia can't be told apart from a normal visitor by its user agent, IP or a signature, because it is an ordinary Chromium browser on the user's own computer and The Browser Company documents no agent marker. Today its AI mostly reads pages the person already opened, which is a normal visit, while an agentic Dia promised for fall 2026 hasn't been confirmed as shipped. If Dia or any agent inside it automates a session, Verisoul flags it through bot score, but does not yet name Dia as an agent. ### Open-source agents and APIs - [How to detect OpenClaw](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/openclaw): You detect OpenClaw through the browser it drives, because it never declares itself and in its default setup runs a fresh Chrome profile over the DevTools Protocol with Playwright, headless on Linux servers. That leaves automation markers, which Verisoul returns as cdp_automation or headless_chrome. When OpenClaw attaches to the user's real signed-in Chrome, the session looks like the person, and Verisoul flags it through bot score without naming the agent. - [How to detect Browser Use](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/browser-use): You detect Browser Use from the browser it drives, because it sends an ordinary Chrome user agent, signs nothing and publishes no IP list. Self-hosted runs control Chromium over the DevTools Protocol, which leaves automation artifacts that Verisoul returns as cdp_automation. Browser Use Cloud hides those traces with stealth, random fingerprints and residential proxies, so Verisoul flags those sessions through bot score without naming the agent yet. - [How to detect Hermes Agent](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/hermes-agent): Hermes Agent does not identify itself, so you detect it through the browser it drives, which by default is a local headless Chromium with headless and DevTools automation markers that Verisoul returns as headless_chrome or cdp_automation. Signed Browserbase sessions come back as browserbase. When Hermes attaches to the user's own Chrome or uses an unsigned stealth cloud browser, only behavior gives it away, and Verisoul flags it through bot score. - [How to detect Computer-use agents](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/computer-use-apis): Computer-use agents built on Claude, OpenAI or Gemini never identify themselves, because the model only returns clicks and keystrokes and the developer's own browser does the browsing, with no user agent token, signature or AI-vendor IP range. You detect them through that browser, since reference setups run Playwright Chromium or a Linux virtual desktop that leaves automation markers and screenshot-paced input. Verisoul returns them as headless_chrome, cdp_automation or webdriver, and flags runs on stealth hosts through bot score. ### Hosted browsers - [How to detect Browserbase](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/browserbase): You detect Browserbase reliably only when the session is signed, by verifying its Web Bot Auth signature against Browserbase's published key, because Browserbase sends no user agent token and publishes no IP ranges. Cloudflare named it in its first cohort of signed agents in Aug 2025, but Browserbase's docs still describe signing as a beta by request, so many sessions are unsigned and use stealth and random fingerprints that look like ordinary Chrome. Verisoul returns signed sessions as agent id browserbase and flags unsigned automated sessions through bot score. - [How to detect Hyperbrowser](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/hyperbrowser): You detect Hyperbrowser by its Web Bot Auth signature when a session is signed, because it then sends Signature-Agent "https://www.hyperbrowser.ai" with an Ed25519 key you can verify, while it sends no user agent token and publishes no IP list. Signing is opt-in and cannot be combined with Ultra Stealth, so its hardest-to-detect sessions are unsigned by design. Verisoul returns signed sessions as agent id hyperbrowser and flags unsigned automated sessions through bot score. - [How to detect Anchor Browser](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/anchor-browser): You detect Anchor Browser by verifying its Web Bot Auth signature when a session is signed, because Anchor is a Cloudflare signed agent with a published key, while it publishes no IP list and has no confirmed user agent token. Anchor's docs say signing is off by default and turned on per session, while its Chromium fork is sold as stealthy, with CAPTCHA bypass on paid plans, so unsigned sessions carry no declaration. Verisoul returns signed sessions as agent id anchor_browser and flags unsigned automated sessions through bot score. ### Automation tools - [How to detect Puppeteer](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/puppeteer): You detect Puppeteer and headless Chrome from the browser itself, because stock setups leave clear markers: navigator.webdriver is true, chrome-headless-shell sends a HeadlessChrome user agent, and DevTools-protocol control leaves automation artifacts. New headless mode, the Puppeteer default since v22, sends a normal Chrome user agent, and stealth plugins hide the easy tells, so detection has to add behavior. Verisoul returns these sessions as agent id headless_chrome or cdp_automation. - [How to detect Playwright](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/playwright): You detect Playwright from the browser it drives, because default headless Chromium announces itself as HeadlessChrome, sets navigator.webdriver to true and leaves Playwright globals such as __playwright__binding__ and __pwInitScripts in the page. Headed mode, a custom user agent and stealth forks such as Patchright and Camoufox remove many of those tells, so behavior and network reputation matter too. Verisoul returns Playwright sessions as agent id cdp_automation. - [How to detect Selenium](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/selenium): Selenium is the easiest automation framework to detect, because the W3C WebDriver standard requires the browser to set navigator.webdriver to true while it is under WebDriver control, and stock ChromeDriver leaves cdc_ variables in the page. Patched drivers such as undetected-chromedriver hide those tells, so behavior and network checks still matter. Verisoul returns Selenium sessions as agent id webdriver. ### AI crawlers - [How to detect OpenAI's bots](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/openai-bots): You detect OpenAI's bots by matching the user agent token each one declares (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User or OAI-AdsBot) and confirming the source IP is in the matching JSON list OpenAI publishes, since a token from an unlisted IP is a spoofer. All four identify themselves openly, and GPTBot alone was 9.7% of AI-bot traffic on Cloudflare in July 2026, while OpenAI's cloud browser for agents is a separate product that looks like Chrome and signs its requests instead. Verisoul verifies each bot against OpenAI's network and returns it as agent id gptbot, oai_searchbot, chatgpt_user or oai_adsbot. - [How to detect Anthropic's bots](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/anthropic-bots): You detect Anthropic's bots by matching the user agent token each one declares (ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot or Claude-User) and checking that the source IP appears in the list Anthropic publishes at claude.com/crawling/bots.json, since a Claude token from any other IP is spoofed. All three identify themselves and follow robots.txt, and ClaudeBot was the largest single AI crawler on Cloudflare in July 2026 at 16.5% of AI-bot traffic, though none of them signs its requests yet. Verisoul verifies each bot against Anthropic's network and returns it as agent id claudebot, claude_searchbot or claude_user. - [How to detect Google's AI bots](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/google-bots): You detect Google's AI bots by matching the token each one declares (Google-Agent, Google-GeminiNotebook or GoogleOther) and confirming the IP is in Google's published range files or passes a reverse and forward DNS check. Google-Extended is different because it is only a robots.txt control over how Google may use pages Googlebot already crawls, so it never sends a request. Verisoul verifies the fetchers against Google's network and returns them as agent id google_agent, googleother or google_notebooklm. - [How to detect Perplexity's bots](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/perplexity-bots): You detect Perplexity's declared bots by matching the PerplexityBot/1.0 or Perplexity-User/1.0 token in the user agent and confirming the IP is in the matching JSON file Perplexity publishes. Both identify themselves, but Cloudflare reported on Aug 4, 2025 that Perplexity also fetched blocked sites with an undeclared agent posing as Chrome on macOS from unlisted IPs, which Perplexity disputes and which a token and IP check cannot catch. Verisoul verifies the declared bots against Perplexity's network and returns them as agent id perplexitybot or perplexity_user. - [How to detect xAI's Grok bots](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/xai-bots): xAI's Grok search fetchers can't be detected by user agent or IP list, because xAI publishes no crawler documentation, no user agent token, no IP ranges and no robots.txt policy for them. Grok Bot, xAI's separate computer-use agent launched Aug 11, 2026, is the exception, since Verisoul verifies its requests by signature. Verisoul names the agent as grok_bot through its signature, device and behavior, while the search fetchers are not named and are flagged through bot score instead. - [How to detect Meta's AI bots](https://www.verisoul.ai/agents/meta-bots): You detect Meta's bots by matching the token each one declares (meta-externalagent, meta-externalfetcher, meta-webindexer, facebookexternalhit or meta-externalads) and confirming the source IP is announced by Meta's own network, AS32934. All of them identify themselves, and Meta-ExternalAgent was the second-largest AI crawler on Cloudflare in July 2026, but Meta publishes no JSON IP list and no signatures, so verification means looking up Meta's network yourself. Verisoul verifies each bot against Meta's network and returns it as agent id meta_externalagent, meta_externalfetcher, meta_webindexer, facebookexternalhit or meta_externalads. ## Detection methods - Signed: The agent signs its requests, so its identity is verified cryptographically. - Self-declared: The agent names itself in its user agent, and Verisoul confirms it with network, device or behavioral data. A user agent alone is never enough. - Inferred: Fingerprinted from clear, repeatable patterns. No single signal proves it, but together they point to one agent. ## Full directory Every agent Verisoul identifies, grouped by type. Each page starts with a short answer on how to detect that agent, then the signals Verisoul uses and the agent block the Verisoul API returns. Directory home: https://www.verisoul.ai/agents.
